Undergraduates

JACOB LABOVITZ
Jacob is a Junior undergraduate student in the BU BME program. His interests are in CNS wound repair and biomaterials. He was awarded a Distinguished Summer Research Fellowship for 2023 to study the use of biomaterials as metabolic fuel for wound repair. In his free time, he enjoys rock climbing, playing piano, and cooking.

KAYLA DUNSON
Kayla is a Junior undergraduate student in the BU College of Arts and Science, pursuing a Neuroscience major and a minor in French. She loves learning about brain function on a cellular level. In her free time she likes to read, watch French shows, and go to the beach when she’s at home.

Himagowri Prasad
Himagowri (Hima) is a Junior undergraduate student in the BU BME program, and is also pursuing a Nanotechnology concentration and Chemistry Minor. Her interests lie in biomaterials for regenerative medicine. She was awarded UROP funding in Fall 2023 and Fall 2024 to investigate coacervate biomaterials for spinal cord injury applications. In her free time she enjoys reading, running, and exploring Boston.

Ghaida Aldhahri
Ghaida is a Junior undergraduate student in the BU BME program with a concentration in Nanotechnology and a minor in Public Policy Analysis. Her interests combine biomaterials in drug delivery with policy analysis to advance translational medicine. She received UROP funding in Fall 2024 to develop synthetic dendrimer nanoparticles for targeted drug delivery in Parkinson’s disease treatment. In her free time, She enjoys exploring Boston, photography, and reading.
